Always Compare the Builder's Lender
Builder incentives like rate buydowns and credits are almost always contingent on using their in-house mortgage company. Shop at least 3 lenders. In many cases, buyers who chose an outside lender saved more than the incentive was worth. Verify before you commit.

Get a Third-Party Home Inspection
New homes are built by people — and people make mistakes. Always hire an independent home inspector who specializes in new construction, including an infrared scan for window flaws, air gaps, and insulation issues. Never rely solely on the builder's own inspections.
